Gavin Davis

FArmer, Soil Consultant, Manufacturer

A descendant of original landholders in the Great Southern area of Western Australia, Gavin’s family has been farming throughout the district for over 100 years.

Learning that, in many cases, the accepted land management science just wasn’t working on his own properties or that of other producers, he embarked on an experimental course of soil amending which has proved to increase crop yields and the land’s ability to support greater livestock ratios.

His experience in land management was further stimulated by studying under Neal Kinsey at Roseworthy Agricultural College.

Ten years of educating Perth garden specialists and residents about outdated methods of soil improvement has changed the way Perth gardeners treat their sand to obtain a rich loam soil. Gavin’s Soil Solver Clay Plus is now partnered by respected Bailey’s Fertilisers and recognised by industry and public domain management as the ‘go to’ product for healthy, water retentive, weed controlled soils around Perth.

Passionate about soil health, terms of trade in agriculture and food security for Australia, Gavin has invested his time and money in developing products for the betterment of broad-acre farming, livestock producers and horse enthusiasts.

ABM has grown out of Gavin’s experience and soil science expertise bringing the same outcomes to agricultural producers that Soil Solver has brought to urban communities.
